Dan Krech
As an executive producer, Dan Krech utilizes decades of industry knowledge and expertise to lead several production companies in the development of multiple small and large scale projects. These projects include; animated, live-action, VFX, feature films, TV series and straight to DVD content.
Dan has always been a pioneer, during the beginning of his career at Omnibus he designed and installed the technical facility layouts for the studios in Toronto, Los Angeles and New York. In doing so, Dan was involved in the first completely animated television commercial for AVCO Finance. This innovativeness has been with Dan ever since. Among Dan's many achievements, most notably he was named as contributor for Technical Emmy in 1988 with the Grass Valley Group for development of the "Kadenza" digital switcher. Dan Received a Technical Achievement Award for design of first completely digital composite suite by Millimeter Magazine 1988. He has also won Bronze in 1994 at NY Film Festival for Bose Commercial, won a Gold Addy in Pennsylvania, in 1995 for Fleer Basketball card commercial, several Houston Ad Awards for Campaign in 1996 for Shell MasterCard and several best of show awards (8) in 2005 as producer of Peter Lepeniotis short film "Surly Squirrel". Krech has gained much of his vast expertise as the president and founder of DKP. Over a 21 year period Dan built the largest and most prosperous animation company in Canada, making DKP an international success. Dan's natural entrepreneurial spirit and relentlessly hardworking character saw the growth of DKP from 4 employees to over 300 with 20 million dollars in annual sales. In addition to this DKP won several awards including; 12 Bessie awards over the years for visual effects in commercials. Dan's ability to recognize and mentor talent is one of the many reasons his companies remain skilled and innovative.
Dan's combination of business expertise and creative talent has led to projects such as; "Everyone's Hero," "VeggieTales," "Chop Socky Chooks," "Casper's Scare School," "Scourge of Worlds a Dungeons and Dragons Adventure," "3-2-1 Penguin," "The Nuttiest Nutcracker," "Far from Home the Adventures of Yellow Dog," "The first 20 million is always the Hardest," "Bogus," "Creation of the Universe," "Nova S.E.T.I.," "IMAX Space Station," " IMAX Siegfried and Roy: The Magic Box," "IMAX Nascar," and over 2000 commercials. He has worked on these projects with production companies like; 20th Century Fox, Aardman Entertainment, Cartoon Network, Classic Media, Gameover and Big Idea Productions.
Currently, Dan Krech is President and Executive Producer at several production companies. He continues to utilize the most advanced technologies to develop exceptional, recognizable productions. Dan has built numerous studios from the ground up. Having become an expert in studio start-up, currently overseeing three Studios : Entremedia Digital Films inc, Muskoka Animation Studio Huntsville, and Awesometown Entertainment, Krech remains an indelible leader, business man, innovator, and heavy hitter in the CGI industry.
