Ryan's un-produced screenplays have been selected at festivals 32 times, winning 12 awards (including 3 "Best Unproduced Screenplay" awards). He has worked in, and loves, a variety of genres: horror, action, comedy, science fiction, fantasy, drama, children's films, and based-on-a-true-story dramas. In addition to his work as a screenwriter, Ryan has also worked alongside top industry professionals in casting, producing and production management. His varied experiences enable him to give advice on all aspects relevant to production, including budgeting, location, insurance issues, casting, etc. Ryan is a graduate of Queen's University and the Second City Training Centre's Improv Conservatory.
