Pedro von Krüger
Born in Bahia, Pedro von Krüger spent the first years of his life between the north and northeast of Brazil. Until, in 1997, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he graduated in cinema. He began his professional career as an assistant director and camera assistant, and it was working with photographer André Horta that he discovered the possibility of developing a refined directing project through a photographic eye. That was the beginning of the production company Com Domínio Filmes. Throughout his career, Pedro has worked with great Brazilian directors and cinematographers in more than 50 feature films and series, such as "Getúlio", "Nise - O Coração da Loucura", "Uma Professora Muito Maluquinha", "À Deriva", "Tropa de Elite 1 e 2", "Cazuza - O Tempo Não Para", among others. Today, Pedro is a board member of the Brazilian Association of Cinematography. As director of photography, he worked in several documentaries, such as "Auto de Resistência", "Geraldinos", "Eduardo Galeano, Vagamundo", "Zanine, O Ser do Arquitetar", "Um Filme de Cinema", "A Arte Urbana" , "Fevereiros" and "Danado de Bom", with which he won the Best Cinematography Award at the Festival Cine PE 2016. In addition, he also signs the cinematography of the series "All or Nothing: Seleção Brasileira", on Amazon Prime Video, and "Meu Amigo Bussunda", premiering in 2021 on GloboPlay. "Pulmão da Arquibancada" was his first foray into film directing, a feature film that participated in the festivals Cine Fest Brasil Montevideo, Brazilian Film Festival of Miami in 2013, 3rd Cinefoot and 11mm - International Football Film Festival in Berlin, Germany. Then, he directed the short films "O sonho de ser Camisa 10" and "A Incrível Volta ao Mundo do Tricolor Suburbano", with which he won the best direction award at the RECINE festival. Besides those, he also directed the short fiction film "Alvará", which participated in festivals such as Pachamama International Festival, TAFFNY - New York Film Festival of the Americas, NAU - Iberian Expression Film and Arts Festival, Porto and Farcume: Faro International Short Film Festival. His last short film "Agunia" participated in the São Paulo International Film Festival and Visões Periféricas Festival. In 2015, he directed the feature film "Estrada de Sonhos", which participated in the festivals É Tudo Verdade, Cinema Avvenire Film Festival in Rome, and Encuentro Hispanoamericano de Cine y Video Documental Independiente in Mexico. His third feature film as a director was the documentary "Memória em Verde e Rosa", which competed in the category of best sound and best soundtrack at the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro 2018 and participated in the International Archive Film Festival. His debut as a fiction feature film director was with "Any Given Day", a multiplatform project that launched in series format in August 2020 on the Space Channel, and was a ratings success on pay TV. The film has already been in festivals such as the Buenos Aires International Film Festival (BUEIFF), Madrid International Film Festival, and the 15th São Paulo Latin American Film Festival. In 2021, it was selected to represent Brazil in the Pachamama International Film Festival, and confirmed presence in the NYC Film Festival, besides its release in the commercial circuit of movie theaters.
