CJ Wang
CJ WANG was born in Taipei, Taiwan. With a Bachelor of Arts in directing and a Master of Arts in theatre study from Taipei National University of the Arts, WANG began her directing career in theatre before shifting to the big screen.
As a self-taught filmmaker, director, producer, writer, and editor, her short films Thief (2011) and Rowboat (2014) have won several awards and critical acclaim across film festivals around the world. The judging committee from the Golden Bell Awards praised her work as "full of ingenuity and modernism in creating characters and plots...CJ Wang is talented and extraordinary."
As one of the most promising women directors in Taiwan, her first feature film Reclaim (Originally as: Half A Good Woman, Unlosable) has won the 2015 Busan International Film Festival - Asian Project Market MONEFF Award and Taiwan government film production fund for the new director category, and excellent screenplay award of the year. Reclaim will be reaching theatres in the summer of 2022.
